Alianor de Ravenglas

Alianor has focused on clothing construction but also does many other things (tablet weaving, embroidery) in support of her obsession with clothes. She began sewing at the age of seven, and joined the SCA in college. Alianor currently focuses primarily on 13th century English clothing from the skin out. She uses others' discoveries about extant garments and the textile industry and applies it to clothing construction, crafting garments for herself, her family, and many others to wear. She has also developed a method of adapting 13th century garments to function as SCA-legal rapier armor. Most of her clothing, with the exception of toddler clothes and rapier armor, is handsewn, and she tries to use documentable stitching and seam-finishing techniques.

Alianor's largest ongoing project is the development of a really good pattern/construction method for 13th century braies. In support of her clothing habit, she have also learned to be a passable tablet weaver, fingerloop braider, and embroiderer. She is currently working on an A&S 50 challenge to create fifty 13th century garments by the SCA's 50th anniversary.
