Astraya Royachevicha

Astraya says it started in college when she was approached by a man as she was looking at a bulletin board. He was putting up flyers for a Russian group in the SCA looking for interested people to come and visit. This was in 1988 ever since off and on Astraya has been in the SCA for various kingdoms. Reaching far into the past, when she was known as Astraya Royet, her persona was Russian Gypsy oriented, and the winter time Viking Russian.

She has an Associate of Fine Arts, a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in Graphic Communication, a Bachelor of Fine Arts emphasis Drawing/Painting, also a minor in Sculpture and Creative Marketing. Over the years she has been working in the Printing/Production Graphics Departments of various companies.

With a teenage daughter named Ana Krasa Royachevicha-nvuka, Ana currently has reached a point where she is pursuing a persona development of her own in the Pirate direction as Captain Ana. She has been in the SCA since she was 2 years old.

Atraya has been in the Kingdom of Meridies in the area that is now Kingdom of Gleann Abhann,a part of the Shire of Osprey which is now Barony of Osprey (Mobile, AL). Also with a Mongolian/Russian group, later the Shire of Seleone, which is now Barony of Seleone (Biloxi, MS). Without a household group while in Texas she was generally alone in the Kingdom of Ansterroa (Dallas/Fort Worth area). During this time she was more concentrated on the mundane environment. After relocating to Ithaca, NY for a graphics position she decided to look into a local group and have been associated with them off and on for five years. Currently she is the Chronicler for Dominion of Myrkfaelinn and a Kingdom level Scribe for Aethelmearc. Also, on Oct 17th AS 44 AOA inducted into the Order of Sycamore
