Euriol of Lothian
Euriol is a self proclaimed FOODIE! She loves to cook and have since her earliest childhood memories. Since both her parents love to cook this love was passed down. Euriol says, "Dare I say it was one of the things I knew I could do far better than my older sister?" By the time she was 10, she could cook a Thanksgiving Dinner.
It was natural that upon discovering the SCA she would find herself in the kitchen helping to cook. One of the most important ways of learning about medieval cooking was entering cooking competitions. It put her on the path of learning about published copies of extant manuscripts and how to redact recipes. With each competition there would be some comment or question from a judge that would inspire to do further research. Thus her knowledge of medieval food ways began to grow. Being mathematically inclined, She also started recognize a lot of relationships between the food ways of various European cultures of the Middle Ages.
Euriol enjoys sharing the knowledge of cooking with others be it teaching them on how to cook a medieval dish... or exposing the populace to these medieval dishes by cooking Feasts or lunches.
Euriol is also am quite fond of embroidery, after all one can't be in the kitchen all day. Learning different embroidery techniques and finding projects that put these techiques to pratical uses is very important. Many times she's had somone tell her "You must have a lot of patience to do embroidery". Her reply is "Actually, I don't. You don't need patience for something you enjoy".
