Gianna di Aurelio
Gianna has been drawing and painting for as long as she can remember. As a child and young adult, her school notes were constantly filled with drawings and doodles. She even supplemented her grades by drawing caratitures her teachers! She have a degree in Graphic Design and is currently a website designer/developer for Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh, PA.
Her main area of interest is illumination and tends to focus on late 15th and early 16th century Italian and Flemish work. She says she loves being a scribe. The research and creating the scrolls are a constant source of inspiration and drive her desire to learn more as well as push her skills to higher levels. One of her favorite things is to see the faces of the recipients as they receive their scrolls. It makes all the hours of research and painting worthwile! She also enjoyis experimenting with period methods and materials including making and using her own paint and inks.
